Duke of York (London)

The duke of york in London is located in the city of Westminster, It was built for Frank Wyatt and his wife, Violet Melnotte. The cinema opened on 10 September 1892 originally known as the Trafalgar Square Theatre. The theatre was designed by an architect named Walter Emden, the Trafalgar Square Theatre became the Duke of York's to honour the future King George V in 1986.
Curzon Community Cinema

The curzon community cinema which is located in Clevedon, England is said to be the oldest purpose built cinema in the world. The community cinema was opened on 20 April 1912 by Victor Cox
In 1945 the community cinema was previously known as "the Picture House". The name was sold and changed its name to the "Maxime". Following another change of ownership in 1953 brought its current name "Curzon community cinema".
The cinema had 200 seats. The cinemas first projector was gas powered, in years to come the building was improved with the addition of extra seating which raised the total number of seats in the cinema to 389. The curzon community cinema was the first public building in the town to have electricity.
Cineworld

Cineworld cinemas was founded in 1995, Stephen Wiener (Chief executive)
Richard Jones (Chief financial officer) are the key people which are responsible for cineworlds success. The first Cineworld opened in Stevenage in July 1996.
Cineworld has slowly been increasing the amount of cinema screens in the UK in the last 14 years, there is nearly a cineworld cinema in the majority of our towns.
Odeon Cinemas

Odeon Cinemas was created in 1928 by a man named Oscar Deutsch, the odeon cinemas are spread out all across Europe. Odeon Cinemas originated from the name 'Nickelodeon' this was created in 1905 and was used to describe small movie theatres in the United States during their time. J.Arthur Rank was the owner of this for the longest time in the cinemas history.
The first Odeon cinema was introduced by Oscar Deutsch and this was made in Brierly Hill, West Midlands 1928, The building has now been destroyed.
Odeon cinemas are rapidly increasing among europe and becoming more popular, in the United Kingdom there is an Odeon cinema located in almost every town.
