I have taken a look into some other drum and bass magazines and i have realised they all are all very lively and action filled, mostly containing someone in action on the front cover on their DJ decks with perhaps a vinyl in most cases is displayed somewhere. The main reason magazines of this kind are always displayed like this is to show us they are having a good time spreading the word around to promote their passion.

This is a magazine double page spread i have explored, as you can see the first page usually contains a big scaled picture which will indicate the matter of the subject. In this case it looks as if it is promoting a pop group "Black eyed pea's" regarding fashion. The second page is always bundled with information which will often tell a story to give a deeper insight into the subject involved with the double page.
The main colour scheme for this double page spread involves a range of golds, whites, creams and blacks. These colours all contrast very positively together because they are all light, creamy and relaxing colours which don't instantly jump in your face and irritate you.
The first thing i see when i look at this double page is the man who is contrasted the most with the bright golden garments, this is purposely done to attract his absense to the audience. This could only indicate he is the leader of the pop group or has a higher status than the others. Secondly i see the text "will he wont he" displayed below, i instantly think this double page has something to do with him.
The main thing i think which keeps this double page spread active and lively is the text on the right side which doesn't shock me when i look at it. It is very well sectioned and looks as if it isn't too much to read, there are a lot of bold parts which are questions from an interview. These act as checkpoints for a more impatient reader which will stop someone from wanting to walk away from reading the interview.

This is the magazine cover for a Drum and bass magazine and they have decided to call it ATM Worldwide. Personally i think this magazine is aimed at the Teenagers and middle aged men and women aged 15-30 simply due to the very modern and street style design.
If you take a look at the cover the first thing which captures your eye is the music producer, he is simply looking down suggesting he is an icon in the drum and bass scene. The magazine designer is trying to give us the message that it is very hard to reach the top of the drum and bass music scene.
You can clearly see the school has purposely tried to make the cover appeal to young people aged 15 to 30 by giving a very grimey street theme. You can see this from looking at the front cover that the colours are very in your face, bold and have an impact. There is a lot of red involved in this front cover which in this case is connoting heat and danger.
By taking a look at the text it is very technical looking. It is aimed at young people who have a creative mind, young people are often interested with graffiti and creative designs.
The word 'Eksman' has been made bold. This obviously means they want us to focus on the word, the main thing they could be suggesting to us is he is very important above any other artists in the music scene, this is another reason for him looking down into the camera.
